Once again, people wondered why I ended up in a place like that. My family was pretty well off, having earned plenty of money back when monsters were allowed to earn a normal living and stuff. No one in my family did drugs, or sold their body, or was down and out in any way. In fact, most of them looked down on anyone who did have to. But I came of age right when humans started really trying hard to disenfranchise monsters, and so I had to find a job in a world where all the job postings were starting to say that no monsters need apply. Shari let anyone work for her as long as they proved themselves trustworthy, regardless of appearances or anything. So I ended up working for her as the head bartender at The Underground.  And… you know, I was proud of it. If I was going to do anything, I might as well do it well. And the overall vibe of inclusion and picking up anyone who was down was something I could get behind, even if most people looked down on us. Even if I was just mixing drinks, I felt like I was making a difference, being there to give a smile to people who probably really needed one.

Kinda "sour grapes." She's always been bullied and hated for who she is, so she basically had to choose between changing who she is to get others' approval, or be unapologetically herself but accept that most people are going to hate her. She chose the latter and might as well enjoy the hate.

But no one finds his sunshiney-ness annoying? Interesting >.>
Maybe it's just the experience of me being ND, but I find people are suspicious and/or annoyed by me being very perky and such.
So my very perky character has a similar experience where people think he's A Lot if not Too Much lol

Not sure about Eliszia. I don't think she makes enemies, but she also seems like the type who'd easily make a lot of positive but superficial connections, and struggle to form a deep connection with anyone.

Ashiya hates almost everyone and revels in the fact that almost everyone hates her.
Jax tries to be the affable type who gets along with everyone, but it only works about half the time, usually with girls who think he's hot. The other half of the time, they think he's *too* sunshiney and perky.

“Because, fox f***face, I don't want you trying any s***. I know this place is pretty lawless and no one's going to come to my rescue if you do, but I can take care of myself.” I bared my fangs at him. “Never ripped someone's throat out before, but if I can do an eye…” “Hey, wait! I know I'm orange, but I'm a wolf, not a fox. I get that a lot, though, no big deal.” He ruffled his hair sheepishly. “Oh, and I'm not hitting on you or anything, and I'd never, ever touch a girl without her consent! As you pointed out, you are kinda young for me. And you're definitely not ugly, you'd be hella cute for a guy your own age, but besides the age thing I usually go for thicker ladies in general. And I'm just kinda digging myself deeper and deeper into this hole of sounding like a creep. I swear I'm not a creep. Sooor-ry, I swear!” He gulped. “Well, if you're ready and willing to tear throats out, you might just fit in here better than I do.” “Does everyone else here also think you're a pain in the a**?” I asked him.

-shakes head- Why is Jax. just. why IS Jax. :p

#amwriting Given that tomorrow is Pokémon day and the 30th anniversary of the whole Pokémon franchise... if the characters in your writing played Pokémon, who would their favorite be???

The four of them end up in the water park area, and Jax alternates between showing off his body in his swimsuit to the ladies, and splashing water in Ashiya's face. Ashiya tackles Jax and holds him underwater violently enough that staff intervenes. Everleigh and Liszi are super embarrassed... 😆

Ashiya is unenthusiastic and just wants to get a smoothie and relax on a bench. Liszi convinces Ashiya to at least go on the ferris wheel and slow boat rides with her, and Ashiya begrudgingly does so, thus enjoying some romantic alone time with her girl.

Jax is all about taking Everleigh on extreme thrill rides that she doesn't wanna be on, and she'll cling to him and scream. He also wants to win a game of strength to get her a prize. He usually tries to eat healthy, but a special day would mean junk food time! Burger, onion rings, fried oreos...

Ashiya would be kind of an artist in combat, but still not really, as her fighting style is just kinda brutal?
I could see Eliszia or Everleigh being into art... I could imagine Everleigh secretly doodling saucy pictures of her crush >.>
Jax just asks if flirting counts. He'd argue it does.

Ashiya just likes to do physical damage to other people >.> and Jax is like "noooooo why am I friends with youuuu" ... which is probably also because he realizes if he wasn't there she'd be worse 😆

Ashiya tells them that if they want to continue having eyes to see the movie with, they'd better stfu.
Aaand now Jax is sitting there covering his face like "Aaasshhh nooo you can't SAY that!!!" 😆

Eliszia and Everleigh complain to the theater staff and tries to get them thrown out.
Jax has a live and let live attitude about it and hates conflict, so he pretends it isn't happening.
