I don't disagree. Typically this is is true for players who don't make players around them better.

Is it? Scroll my timeline and show me the last time I posted about the Rangers or replied to anybody about the Rangers. Or anything about the Rangers. I'll wait
Just another fan from another fan base who thinks about the Toronto Maple Leafs more than he thinks about his own team. Living rent-free in their heads since the beginning of time
So then you're saying Matthews is nothing without another player. Which would label him not really a franchise guy who's making 13 million a year.
So is there presently any pressure on the Toronto Maple Leafs? Like the kind that would be so crippling that one of the greatest goal scorers of this century would go goalless in 7 games after coming off the greatest accomplishment of his career? Asking for a friend.
I'm just not buying anything lol. If those 4 guys played balls out and led by example and they still lost, I'd happily entertain a forensic audit. But the autopsy stops there and their chest cavities are empty
Here I go again but hell no! When that hit, they had 34 91 16 88 all locked up. An embarrassment of riches that was the envy of the league. If two of them had 50% of a Tkachuk attitude, they win a cup. Can't say they couldn't afford depth. That's never why they lost. O fer everything in big games
It's impossible to fathom not getting it after about year 3.
I'd rather have more balance and our 5 best players have the dawg in them. I donβt really care who we do it with. I'm 100% fine moving on. It was fun until it wasn't and it's not coming back.
Matthews isn't it. He had 9 chances to come up big. He doesn't have the stomach for it. He doesn't understand the actual sacrifice.
All I know about tonight's game is from the boxscore.
Two third period shots vs your 100 year rival down 2-1 is all you need to know about what direction they need to go.
Yup
Lottery pick. Assets for 34 and 88 this summer. Put this era in the rear view and avoid a decade long rebuild.
Fuck it up and settle in for long term pain.
As we said on our last Episode. On the off chance the Leafs decide to part ways with 34 before the end of his contract, that does not qualify as being "run out of town." That's asset management and taking the team in another direction. Ten years is a career. Chances were given.
Over 9 years, the Leafs didn't have anything that remotely resembled Buffalos push back vs Tampa last night. I mean physically and with some of their top players.
That will be their legacy and their downfall and will stay the same until the heads of the snake are gone.
I miss him
Very few real dollars remaining lol
In 5 years the Leafs will be in the middle of a Buffalo Sabres length rebuild and Nic Robertson will be running around falling down, scoring every 5 games and dudes will be saying "yup, that's why we kept him. It's all coming together."
It's time to see if 34 can chuck'em. He has 6 months to recover if he gets a boo boo. I need to know what he's got.
Last year the Leafs won the division. They overpaid at the deadline going all in.
They took the defending and eventual b2b Champs to 7 games. Absolutely no showed at home in game 5& 7. Now they're selling and Tre is taking direct hits.
We broke it down

EP334 is up!
We reviewed all three trades and looked ahead to the impending rebuild.

5 years away from being 5 years away.
The reason it was a slower trade deadline day today is because the Toronto Maple Leafs weren't out there grabbing all they could to prop up for loser superstars
It will always come back to 4 players not getting it done year, after year, after year, after infinity. What they left behind was a bunch of imperfect hockey people trying to prop them up in a cap restricted, watered down league. All they had to do is clutch up. Never forget.
These MF's better set up their hockey ops pronto!
None of this last minute bs and saying it was too close to the draft to do a proper evaluation. We've seen this dog and pony show before. If Dallas goes deep, move off Nil and go to plan B. Enough is enough.
I do have that sound effect!
We might need to open the phone lines
For those of you who as adults, only know the last 10 years? Welcome to the previous 40. You'll find your rhythm, I promise. It shapes your character.
You know how sometimes trades come in late? Does the draft count as late?
Why would OEL want to stay and play in a place as undesirable as Toronto? The guy could go anywhere. Do you think it's possible it's actually not an awful place to play?
