On June 8, 2000, then-Governor Locke signed Engrossed House Bill 2760 which created PESB. Now, 25 years later, PESB continues to serve as an educator-led board in co-creating education policy in WA.

A clock hour provider offers continuing education courses to educators. These courses may be used for certificate renewal.

In Washington State, clock hour providers must apply and be approved annually by the Professional Educator Standards Board.
