A surprisingly beautiful Worth gown, tucked away somewhat unassumingly, was this 1878 wedding dress worn by Annie Schermerhorn when she married John Innes Kane. It was made of white satin, silk tulle, pearl appliques, and ribbon fringe to a gorgeous effect. A Worth wedding was

Initial for Advent Sunday introit in a fragment from 14th c French missal now at Houghton Library, https://fragmentarium.ms/view/page/F-cgy7/8694/66091. there is shiny gold and hugely detailed penwork and four sort of camely dragon things, two of which seem to be a bit alarmed at having become intertwined.
fragment from a 14th c German missal now in Stuttgart. https://fragmentarium.ms/overview/F-cver . The parchment is kind of grubby from use as a binding, and besides which putting blue polka dots all over the red penwork inside the A probably didn't work out quite the way the artist had hoped. the neumes are quite tidy though.
thie 1405 Italian gradual (also at Houghton, https://fragmentarium.ms/overview/F-4h08) takes a more literal illustration approach, with king David lifting his hands up in the general direction of God. there's a bunch of little white-clad friars next to him who appear to be looking at the picture instead of singing, which is probably what some people gazing at the page were doing too.
fragment of a gradual, likely 13th c. German, now at Houghton LIbrary https://fragmentarium.ms/overview/F-ppwo. the A of Ad te levavi is shiny and gold and there are many leafy vines.

Another outfit I was very excited to see in person, since I've known of this dress for quite a while, was this 1886 Worth gown made of velvet and silver-threaded embroidery. It was also immortalized in a portrait by Alexandre Cabanel of Louise van Loon-Borski. In the painting,

Excerpt from ruling: “Bluntly put, why the Court ruled as it did remains unclear-and without reasoning, this order cannot even be considered as persuasive. Second, Justice Kavanaugh's conclusion that the plaintiffs lacked standing in Perdomo rested on the claims asserted in that case specifically, plaintiffs there sought to enjoin defendants from targeting individuals for immigration stops based on certain factors, such as race or ethnicity, their accent, and the type of work they did. Id. Justice Kavanaugh reasoned that plaintiffs in Perdomo likely lacked standing under Lyons, as defendants may "stop suspected illegal immigrants based on a variety of factors," and thus "plaintiffs ha[d] no good basis to believe that law enforcement will unlawfully stop them in the future" based "only on [prohibited] factors." Id. at *3 (emphases in original). In contrast, this case concerns an entirely different context, namely, civil immigration arrests rather than immigration stops, which were at issue in Perdomo, and a different type of challenge. Specifically, plaintiffs are not arguing which factors defendants may consider in their application of a legal standard, but rather contend that defendants have abandoned the proper legal standard entirely. See Pls.' Reply at 8. Thus, Justice Kavanaugh's concurrence in Perdomo, to the extent it has persuasive, let alone controlling, authority, is inapposite.”
While we were sleeping, a huge ruling:

In 1870, Worth and Bobergh dissolved their partnership, and Worth struck out on his own. In this new era, the crinoline gave way to the bustle and entered into what #PalaisGalliera calls the "upholstery" style, with its overindulgence in trimmings and fringe, like this 1872 robe
