I wish I knew. Not in our collection, sadly.
I wish I knew. Not in our collection, sadly.
Me too! But try and find it
For 25 years we've given away archival film footage at archive.org/details/prel.... Our images are in uncountable films and videos and play worldwide. And AI video models crawl them. If we kept some of our footage offline, would it be fresher, less likely to be cloned? Just asking.
Great to see you!
I love this project. It is why I collected postcards for many years and now collect home movies.
Join me in 25 minutes for the livestream of Lost Landscapes of San Francisco 20! Chat will be open and spirited, www.youtube.com/watch?v=B4Or...

love these, but never looked for them. "broadcast"? "news coverage"? I mostly collect historical off-air scanner recordings, though until the streaming era they are few and far between.
I am delighted to announce that tickets are now available for Lost Landscapes of San Francisco, Year 20! Hope to see you there.

A short account of the provenance of "The baby cried. The mommy picked it up", by Rick Prelinger, son of one of the editors of the book in which the children's stories appeared
"The baby cried..." is part of every CA student's lore.
@jackbjoyce.bsky.social tracked it down for a ROLSI.net blog.
Now Jack has heard from Rick Prelinger @footage.bsky.social, one of the children whose stories were recorded. We're delighted that he is happy to share his memories of it.

I was there two weeks ago. Mostly all junk (vinegary sound elements, etc.). More recently others are reporting the same. I don't think this is a crisis point. But thanks anyway!
I was there a few weeks back and others who have been more recently are in touch. It's almost all vinegary junk, deteriorated sound elements. No crisis here. Thanks anyway though!

I don't think I can help. Assembly is time intensive and we are short handed
How much film is there, what format, and can you assemble it into larger reels?
Home movies capture the moments that define our livesβfamily celebrations, everyday joys. Yet, these films are vanishing due to time, neglect & decay.
