So it’s at least a little funny to frame the unambiguously horrible, manipulative things you do in that route as efforts to prevent the cute monster neighbors from realizing they like each other.
So far at least, I’ve only ever seen it referred to as homophobic in jest.
There are scenes where Susie and Noelle’s relationship gets to grow and develop in the Normal Route, that get skipped in the Weird Route. This—as with everything else in the Weird Route—is framed as being a bad thing.
