I think what is happening within the USA is a bigger change than what happens internationally. It’s pretty bad, and worse than usually, but we’re kinda used to it. USA has never adhered to international law as long as I’ve followed international politics.
The BS within the country chocks me though.

I think perhaps there is a fifth desired attribute that applies to both the collection and individual tests. Descriptive. We want tests to document the overall code well, and we want failing tests to describe bugs well.

I’ve read it several times through the years. Especially the “be obvious” is core to how I play, and teach how to play.
Is it very different than the one on my shelf? In either case: my unreserved recommendation.
I think this a good approach in most campaign role playing games, but especially for Mythic Bastionland and with two pretty novice players this works well.
It gives a better alibi to explore the character and figure out the details later.
I framed the style of play a little bit harder than the book does. Instructing the players that we are playing stories of knights, not full characters. They might develop into full characters, but for now they are merely mythic figures. No names, just partial descriptions and actions.
And improvisation is what Mythic Bastionland is all about for me. I prepped a map, rolled a bunch of Myths and read through them quickly (and rules). Since then I have had enough in the book alone to be comfortably improvising my way through both session without stalling or relying on stereotypes.

Both my daughter and I are terrible at planning. But at least she had the energy to go shopping in the middle of the evening.
Recently my daughter (14) wanted a sewing machine, so we got her one for late Christmas present.
Now she asks me all kinds of advice on how to sew.
I am equal amounts flattered and terrified.
(I can kinda sew a pillow case, but not much more).
