If Khan stands again I think he'll do okay, but honestly he's been helped along the last few elections by the Tories standing the most awful, uncharismatic nightmare people imaginable. Zac Goldsmith was the last plausible challenger they were able to bring to bear, and even he went off the rails.

You said: “A party leader should not be on the beaches of France encouraging people to make a perilous crossing on small boats.” I suppose I shouldn’t be surprised especially after the hateful Labour campaign in Gorton and Denton, but this is just the latest in a string of lies peddled by a discredited Government who intentionally fan the flames of racism and division. When I went to Calais, I was not there to encourage people to travel to the UK. I was there to see at first hand the suffering your Government and successive Governments have done in demonising migrants in a pathetic bid to pander to the base instincts of Reform and the flawed strategy of Morgan McSweeney. As you will know, if you even bothered to research my visit instead of taking Reform talking points, I was there to witness the brutality of families living in tents in freezing temperatures. I filled water tanks and picked up litter. What that visit did do is confirm my belief that if we are to smash the boat gangs and stop the boats, we need to offer safer and managed routes for migrants to come to this country. Showing compassion as a politician is not a crime. In fact, we need to see much more of it. It reminded me of a young MP who in October 2015 spent three days in Lesbos helping migrants fleeing war-torn Syria. She posted videos on X, talked about handing out water and croissants to refugees and food parcels. When she returned to the UK, she wrote a very moving piece in the New Statesman. Also water gets into *everything*! My experience at recovering water damaged devices is that you can often get them functioning again, but there'll be a hundred tiny things wrong with them, some of which you won't notice for weeks. Best to take the time to back your stuff up off them and replace.
With non stick the thermal shock loosens the layers of teflon, so it's a specific issue that cast iron shouldn't experience.
Well that depends on the pan - it's very bad for non stick pans, but I'm told you're supposed to do it with cast iron?
Also, IP ratings are intended to protect devices from accidental exposure, it doesn't mean the devices love living there. GoPros are IP68 rated but they still sell waterproof covers for them - and they have seals for the ports and stuff.
Chlorinated water, don't forget! That's basically bleach, and bleach makes things clean, which is good for them!
Also they're incredibly expensive devices and you should treat them with care, and in particular you should think carefully before doing things that seem stupid to do to expensive devices like, for example, dropping them in the pool.
TBF iPhones are supposed to be IP68, which includes total immersion, but a) swimming pool water is chlorinated which is not good for electronics, and b) phones which are overheated are vulnerable to thermal shock and quite possibly more vulnerable to water ingress due to expansion.
