12 park locations are accepting donations of menstrual products to support women in need during Women's History Month The Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board is accepting donations for Period Kits MN at recreation centers across the city through April 4. Period Kits MN is a nonprofit that provides kits with at least a 30-day supply of period products to those experiencing homelessness, unstable housing and extreme poverty. Access to menstrual products is a basic health need, yet for many individuals and families in our community, these essential items remain financially out of reach. Period poverty affects those experiencing homelessness, students, park visitors, program participants and neighbors. Donating menstrual products is a tangible way to break down barriers, foster empowerment and affirm dignity of our community members. Accepted Donation Items • Tampons (regular and super) • Pads (regular and overnight) • Travel size wet wipes (up to 15 count) • Menstrual cups Bring your donations to any of the following collection sites now through April 4. Recreation Centers are open Monday-Friday, 3-8 pm, and Saturdays, 12-5 pm.
