I do like that there are people on the left challenging them, however political debate there can descend into a toxic cesspit of intolerance towards different views. I try to interact with liked minded people in terms of music, movies political views which keeps my feed mainly positive.
Very sad. Great actress and seemed a lovely, refreshingly self deprecating for a star. She will be much missed, as will Robert Redford.

more: a new Madonna album will be particularly welcome given the worrying trend of right wing populism in the world. She is a beacon of light, especially in these concerning times.

Exactly. I adore her artistry, her career and her life has been about standing up for marginalised groups as as you’ve both said which is inspiring & she’s taught me a lot. M is unapologetically herself & inspired other people to be so. It’s a beautiful thing. I wish there were more celebs like her.
Her heart is ultimately in the right place.

Danson has had a fine post-Cheers career. I love him in Damages & as himself in Curb Your Enthusiasm. Of course Woody’s the biggest star. As much as I like Grammar as an actor, he disappointingly backs Trump. Still nothing like as surprising as Morrissey’s inexplicable lurch to the far right.
Yes, a sobering thought. You wonder where the years have gone at times. Yes, Colasanto was only in in it for three seasons then there was the Woody & Diane era for several years before Rebecca replaced Diane.
Love Diane following up with “Norman”, excellent show throughout of course, but the coach and Diane years are especially excellent- great replacements, but even then it wasn’t quite the same for me.
Great song and the 1991 Academy Awards performance of it has to be up there with my absolute favourite M performances of all time. So many excellent performances from her spanning her wonderful career, but it’s near the top for me.

I haven’t seen those myself, but they sound good. That Silver & Ward film noir book is always a good reference guide for the genre, I find.
Only have a few Easter eggs but am hoping to make them last a while. Ordered a Chinese takeaway and got Guinness extra stout bottles to drink don’t drink very much these days but a holiday period is an excuse to do it a bit more). Enjoy!
