πHappy Founders Day Girl Scouts!π
I was a Girl Scout leader for roughly a decade, and it was the best thing I did with my girls.
Being a Girl Scout leader also game me the courage to run for office in 2020. #ksleg

I have gotten a pile of βno pill taxβ emails. Insurance Commissioner Schmidt does an excellent job explaining Pharmacy Benefit Managers and how theyβre driving up costs and running local pharmacies out of business.

@joellahoye.bsky.social offered a budget amendment that would have made reduced price lunches free. This $2.5M, a mere .009% of Kansasβ budget, would help the families of 34,000 Kansas children. I voted YES. #ksleg
I voted NO on the budget today. While I appreciate the additional funding for social services, I cannot ignore the items I mention in my explanation of vote. #ksleg

Rep. Ousley tried to increase SPED funding twice tonight: #1 would have gotten us to 70%, #2 would keep us at 67%. I supported both.
The LAW says we are to be at 92%. Current funding will have us under 67% next year. Students deserve better. #ksleg #ksed

I voted NO on unaccredited, for profit, claims services for veterans.
βWhile these for-profit service providers may violate federal law, there are no criminal penalties attached, which creates a legal loophole.β

The average household lost more than $1,000 to Trump's tariffs.
Now the Court has spoken: this was unlawful all along.
The President owes you an apology - and a refund.

We are all created in Godβs image and we all deserve the ability to be ourselves. SB 244 isnβt going to change who people are, but it is going to drive our friends and family members from Kansas. 2/2 #ksleg
Mr. Speaker, I vote no on the override of SB 244. A few years ago, I was asked by kids in a Cub Scout pack what I donβt like about being a legislator. I told them it was days like today when we attack people who are just trying to be themselves. 1/2 #ksleg

My explanation on the cell phone ban bill:
I vote NO on SB 281. While I fully support limiting cell phone usage during the school day, this bill is a an overreach of local control. Locally elected school boads are best suited to craft policiesβ¦.1/2 #ksleg
The federal government is suing states for refusing to hand over unredacted voter registration rolls. This is your personal information.
Secretaries of State have demanded answers. Kansas deserves a Secretary of State who will protect your data and your vote.
Who uses mail-in ballots in Kansas? Military families stationed overseas. Seniors who can't easily get to the polls. Rural voters who live miles from their polling place. Working parents who can't take a Tuesday off.
Voting is a right for every eligible Kansan.
