Spot on! I love how the announcers made a point to say that Alysa Liu’s family came to the U.S. after Tiananmen Square. We used to be a country that people came to because it was a place to escape political persecution.

This was a great conversation with someone who has great insights into how important public education is to democracy. When Bryan asked him why the Republicans don't support public schools, he was spot on: They don't want an educated workforce that will demand respect and dignity.
Then they pull funding for public schools to keep the population uneducated so they don’t have the tools to demand economic opportunity.
They must be getting scared that when people vote, they will be voted out.
We deserve leaders who will make it easier to vote, not harder. Thanks for spreading hope for saving our democracy!
