Oh yeah, especially if you changed slowly in drips and drabs as you say, it can muddy the water a lot! Because so much of my medical transition was so distant from my initial "oh" moment, I've always just sort of vaguely waved at that time period when I'm asked anyway

Tbh, I've considered them and I've settled on only doing comms via direct contact - it means I don't get as many, but it does mean it's a lot easier for me to vet clients and I have a lot more control over my presence. (I do also have a day job, so not as reliant on Comms, though, so YMMV.)

Honestly I have a similarly hard time with how to define social transition - for me it's because I'm genderqueer, and I didn't do anything big like suddenly swap all my clothes or anything like that. I generally point to when I switched to they/them pronouns, since that's the only real obvious point
