The #Halftime #badbunny show was the epitome of Latino culture, an intimate party with family, love, country and dance. I felt at home. We were all at home with Bad Bunny tonight and thatβs what made his performance brilliant.

Great point by @DrewHolden360 today:
βAsk more questions, and make less declarations.β
Thank you to @GrageDustin and @DrewHolden360 for participating. Thatβs what we do at @GSPMgwu we engage in the conversations that helps the next generation of leaders shape our countryβs future.
According to @GrageDustin @X is the best networking tool. Iβve said it for a long time: users shouldnβt abandon a platform because of the increased polarization. If you want to be a part of the conversation, this platform should be part of your social media plan.
As educators and civic leaders, we have a responsibility to speak clearly in moments like this. Pay attention. Ask hard questions, and stay vigilant specially when children are involved.
Peace does not begin overseas. It starts here, at home, with accountability, restraint, and respect for human dignity.
For those of us with deep ties to the region, this is very real. If we want peace and democratic transitions abroad, our actions here must reflect the values we claim to stand for.
This also weakens our standing in the world. We cannot credibly support and advocate for democracy in places like Venezuela if we are willing to look away when civil liberties are violated at home.
Americans should never be afraid of their own government. A democracy depends on trust, and trust is lost when actions are seen as unchecked abuse of power or cruel.
This doesnβt only hurt immigrant families. It is making Americans scared. When people see the government detain children and separate families without transparency or clear reason, confidence in our institutions breaks down.
Now we are seeing it again. Children as young as two are being detained. Families, young Ecuadorian children like Liam Ramos, are being separated after coming to the United States seeking asylum.
When I was in Congress, I helped shut down the Homestead detention facility after strict oversight showed what was happening to children there was wrong. It was a clear reminder that government power must be watched and held accountable.
I am an Ecuadorian American, a former member of Congress, and the first South Americanβborn person elected. As a mother, and as someone who understands what it means for families to come here looking for safety, this issue is deeply personal to me.
In Congress I learned that in this polarized environment you donβt win or lose your race because of a vote. The attacks in contested races are strategically coordinated regardless of any one vote. So, my advice is, win or lose, vote your conscience & hold the Republic together.
If you havenβt done so, register now! Next Tuesday at noon, weβre hosting along with Global Americans a serious conversation on what comes next for Venezuela after Maduro. Weβre cutting through the noise to focus on whatβs really going on: Will there be a democratic transition?
π lnkd.in/e9ZUKrWH
Now comes the hard part. The U.S. and its partners must support a real democratic transition, one that prevents regime holdovers and ensures this isnβt just a reshuffling of oil interests. Success means a Venezuela governed by its people, under the rule of law, free from corruption and coercion.
Itβs legitimate to question U.S. interests and motives in Maduroβs removal. That skepticism is healthy. But it should not obscure a central fact: his removal opens a path for the democratically elected president to govern.
Venezuelans overwhelmingly elected Edmundo GonzΓ‘lez, yet Maduro remained in power as an illegitimate ruler continuing human rights abuses and profiting from a narco-state.
That collapse forced millions to flee, affecting the entire Western Hemisphere and Europe. Drug cartels turned Venezuela into a trafficking hub, spreading violence across the region including my birth country, Ecuador, and Venezuela itself.
Talking about Venezuela responsibly requires context and humility. Real lives, not talking points, are at stake. Venezuelans organized, voted, and stood up to a regime that created the worst humanitarian crisis in Latin America, led by the relentless courage of @MariaCorinaYA.
Venezuela isnβt a random political event or a trending topic. Itβs part of a region shaped by decades of poverty and political instability, but also by extraordinary people with incredible resilience.
I come from the region. Iβve been to Venezuela several times. I know Venezuelans personally, family and friends who have lived through this crisis. Thatβs why itβs striking to see how quickly people who long ignored the human catastrophe now speak as experts.
As of 7:00 pm, here is a sneak preview in the City of Miami Mayorsβ race, 70% of residents in the city are Hispanic.
There is so much to talk about these 2025 elections. But there is one area Iβm watching that the media has hardly covered this cycle: the Latino vote.
Asi que, pongan atenciΓ³n porque se van a sorprender con lo que vieneβ¦.

In a time of division and noise, language still has the power to lead. At GWβs Alumni & Family Weekend, Iβll share how we teach the next generation at GSPM to turn dialogue into action and words into democracy in motion. Join us! alumnifamiliesweekend.gwu.edu/best-of-gw
To those who observe in our country and across the globe happy Rosh Hashanah. Shanah Tovah! Wishing you health, love and much hope for peace, reconciliation and a more United States of America.
A Federal Judge orders to shut down Alligator Alcatraz bringing justice & humanity to our immigrant community. This happened because of the efforts of organizations like Friends of the Everglades & the Miccosukee tribe who stood up to demand the laws be followed.

If we want young people engaged in politics and inspired to lead, we need more young voicesβeverywhere. In newsrooms, on podcasts, at major events. Their perspectives are sorely needed. Iβm tired of the same old people saying the same old things. Β‘Ya no mΓ‘s!
Extremely dangerous to threaten to arrest duly elected legislators for standing up against a direct attack on the peopleβs voting rights though a politically biased map. And they do it Bc they know their extreme agenda is losing support and they want to maintain control at all costs. @Univision VIX
