@thesitcomclub.bsky.social Devastated to find out the location for Hope It Rains has been demolished. Found the last picture of it standing on streetview.
Please have a one minute silence for it on the next pod.

Brian Murphy had the best line in that One Foot in the Grave Christmas special, as Mr Foskett the unexpected guest they met on holiday years before: ‘The address you gave me doesn’t seem to exist.’

It’s a sad day here. Our dear friend Brian Murphy has left us for the cinema in the sky. The world is a sadder place without this lovely man. We shall miss him terribly.

Some actors capture an aspect of their historical moment. The combover, the knitwear, the wheedling and fussing - Brian Murphy was the absolute exemplar of a certain kind of postwar masculinity - the salaryman born slightly too early for the Permissive Society. RIP.

The cover of the Radio Times for January 3rd-9rd 1970, the one introducing Jon Pertwee as Doctor Who. However, I've photoshopped so it's announcing Roger Delgado as the Doctor. He's wearing an off-white, cotton suit with a red cravat. I used a picture of Hal Holbrook as Mark Twain for the body.
I've been doing it again.
