That's horrible Ros, I'm so sorry, I never saw anything remotely like that by anyone when I was at school, I think that boys behaviour has improved since then, or at least I really hope so too....
For what it's worth, I think you made the right decision, I hope the community & audience can support you in some way, I for one would certainly back an independent version on patreon for instance. You are a stronger human than most, & that is why the 9L&C helps me get through each winter, thankyou!
You do not need to apologise, and you have not let us down. I am sorry you had to make this decision, for a freelance BBC science presenter, this isn't something they should be asking of you in my opinion, it's not like you're a "face" of a BBC show like news at 1 or Saturday morning whatever,
A two panel line drawn cartoon. First panel, the internet in 1969. One figure says "Let's create a distributed network so it can survive a nuclear winter". The second panel titled the internet in 2021 a different figure says "Let's host half of it in one company and see how it goes"
This cartoon gets more and more relevant with every passing day
The planet is dying. I know the fight against fascism feels so acute, but there will be nothing left to fight for if we don't bring these longer term challenges. Please - will you support our climate litigation?
Climate crisis is an *equity* crisis.

I've finally got around to curating a selection of films about the #climate crisis π₯
There's lot of mediocre climate films out there, but for me these stand out head & shoulders above the rest ποΈ
They make excellent resources for classrooms, lecture halls, or community cinema's π¬

Maybe I'm not alone in having too much going on?
Aaahh I would have loved to have gone but didn't know! I'm really sorry! Not on here much, and not as good as I used to keeping an eye on whose on at the library and theatre royal, and now I see it was at the bookshop anyway, I need sign up to your mailing list later as that's the only way I tend to
MY GOD, I HAVE A NEW HERO. SHE HAD THEM SO HOOKED AND THEN BAM, SHE ATE THEM, BONES AND ALL.
I absolutely loved reality tunnel and have listened to it several times and will continue to re-listen :)
A poster for the new film "System Update" that promises to not be just another climate film.
On the 15th May we will be releasing our new climate film "System Update". It takes a deep dive into why the changes we need havenβt happened & shines a light on the real solutions already within our reach.

Yes things are bad - and getting worse in many ways.
But even now, the illiberals are not getting all their own way. Things are being contested and opposed.
And if the illiberals are ultimately to be defeated this how things start turning against them.
If you can, hold on.
That number 2 made me want to immediately cry (and that stupid social conditioning meant that I didn't) is yet another glaring neon size that therapy is more than good idea for me....
Need to reframe thing in me to not give up... And that just because of something doesn't mean I am/should....
Literally me... Minus the neck feathers.... *Remembers beard* then again... π€£
"And it's not just any stick, it's a *great* stick, heart of oak, carved by my fair hand, sanded smooth it will keep you steady and fend off geese..." :D

Always wondered how the Star Wars Emperor could start with a battle-hardened army and end up with an "entire legion of his best troops" being beaten to death by teddybears with sticks.
Then Hegseth ended up as US Defence Sec. And now yeah that makes sense.
Gregg back afterwards isn't going to be easy, so now you either have to pay them more (which they ought to be anyway) or you're going to get less good people in. Either way, gonna cost more than before, great saving money there, get rid of people who work extra hours for free save lives FFS.
There is so much to say on civil service/gov workers like Gregg. People work jobs like this for less money because they care, they love it, it matters, but part of the equation of lower pay etc is the job security, that's gone, it's not coming back any time soon, so getting incredible people like...
Gregg is a former Marine and Forest Service ranger. He's saved the lives of hikers dangling off a cliff or going through cardiac arrest, and he's bravely fought forest fires to save small rural towns.
100% of his salary is paid by WA state.
