That's kind of a crazy thought. 9 years ago, I started writing here in Legion's heyday because I was passionately excited about World of Warcraft, and over time that passion and excitement has grown and expanded to discussions of other games, game design, technology, and sometimes other stuff (hello wrestling posts!). While I haven't written as much as I would always like, I'm proud of the site, happy for the frequent and thoughtful commenters, and vaguely terrified that this post will mark one-thousand and ten posts in those 9 years (plus one week).

The War Within: In Review The War Within was an expansion of all time. Okay, okay, let's actually attempt to summarize how I feel about it now that it is mostly in the rearview as we hurtle at full speed towards Midnight. A Mini-Summary of Week One Of The New WoW UI Era – Blizzard’s Own LUA Errors, The Vibecoded Addon Wars of 2026 We're about one week deep into the Midnight prepatch at this point, and my god, it has been hilarious in some ways. I Think We Can Admit That The Mythic Plus Squish Was Kind Of A Failure, Yeah? In Dragonflight's fourth season of content, Blizzard made a move to try and address friction with the dungeon system in World of Warcraft - creating a clearer divide of difficulty that aimed to include queueable dungeons as well as the Mythic dungeon system that is a cornerstone of the game's modern design. Heroic was being amped up with harder-hitting mechanics and higher tuning, Mythic baseline dungeons were being adjusted to roughly match what a +10 was around Dragonflight Season 3, and then the Mythic Plus system basically picks up from there and scales up using that higher starting point, with new affix introduction levels but otherwise cutting the progression curve for the average player in half - moving top rewards from requiring a +20 key to +10 in the new system and hoping this would create a level spread with more mid-tier keys, less-frequent skipping up the ranks, and a smoother experience to the average player, while still retaining that high-level scaling for the top-end players.

Legion Remix is a Fun, Sometimes Frustrating Ride Through WoW’s Greatest Expansion I haven't had much to say yet about Legion Remix in the nearly 3 weeks it has been live because I wanted to kind of play it and see how I felt. And, uh…I think I played it enough to have a take! The Remix formula established with Mists of Pandaria Remix last year is a basic premise - you immerse fully into a single expansion's content, only having the option to play it and nothing else, with accelerated leveling, vastly higher ceilings of power, a boatload of cosmetic things to buy during the event (including some rare drop things you can still technically obtain in the live game), and a vague hint of a story involving the Dragonflight lore establishment of an alliance between some Infinite dragons and the Bronze where the leader of the allied Infinites can conduct experiments in existing timelines to see what might result from changes.

The War Within Season 3 – Goals Check-In! Season 3, the last season of The War Within, is in full swing and I wanted to write today to document my journey with it. Unlike other times, I don't have an in-progress update or anything, because short of some fresh KSM alts and my guild getting AotC…I'm done. I hit Keystone Legend and Resilient +12s, I have all the crest achievements except the Gilded one (need another 5 ilvl average on my Druid for that!), I personally got AotC this last week, I've done the raid on both normal and heroic on a few characters, and so yeah, my goals are just a few more KSM alts, that Gilded crest achievement, AotC with my guild, and knocking out the rest of the LFR and Normal transmogs for tier sets (I'm already 4 classes deep with more to go!).

World of Warcraft Midnight’s Grand Unveiling Midnight's big reveal was about a month ago, and in the time since then we've had the usual drip-feed of news from a mix of official Blizzard panels at the Gamescom event in Germany and interviews with favorable press outlets, mostly big mainstream ones and close, highly-positive creators. (A quick side-bar, not trying to shade those creators too much, but there's a degree of obsequiousness in their coverage that I tend to dislike, which is a big part of why I largely don't watch WoW creators doing news or analysis these days.) This reveal was an interesting one, because Blizzcon 2023 and the whole nature of the Worldsoul Saga has given us a curveball - unlike last time, or really any expansion reveal ever, we didn't have a complete question mark of what was coming.

The Raid Liberation of Undermine was, to me, interesting in both positive and negative ways. Let's start with the positive. Approachability is Key – Some Thoughts on The War Within’s First and Second Mythic Plus Seasons I'm going to use today's post to warm up talking about the upcoming content season in World of Warcraft's The War Within expansion. It's because before discussing the season, my goals in it, my progress and attainment during Season 1, I want to put forward a theory - the best, most popular Mythic Plus seasons in WoW are the ones that are the most approachable.

Decided to write up some hope (hopium maybe) about how tuning changes to S2 of Mythic Plus make me excited for what's to come in TWW.

Season Two of The War Within Is Changing Mythic Plus – And Maybe Hinting At More Changes To Come With the 11.1 PTR entering what is likely a near-final phase of testing on the Liberation of Undermine update for World of Warcraft's The War Within expansion, we are starting to see things change in an interesting way. In a blog released last week, Blizzard laid down their big points about Mythic Plus changes coming to the test servers in the next couple of weeks.

Mythic Plus changes have been announced for The War Within Season 2, so let's chat about them.
