The American people don’t want more war. Six servicemembers have already died amidst Trump’s illegal attack on Iran. Trump’s response? Announcing he doesn’t care what Americans want. He would needlessly risk more lives with boots on the ground anyway.

We all have to be vigilant and not let partisan actors rewrite history – there's already a clear record on adversaries' efforts, much of it compiled during Trump's first term.

Donald Trump’s decision to prioritize redrawing voting maps across the country instead of focusing on lowering costs for families has created extraordinary circumstances for states like Virginia. There is now a temporary proposal aimed at preserving a fair playing field and protecting Virginia voters. While some states are moving ahead through partisan deals behind closed doors, Virginia is following its constitutional process and allowing voters to render the final judgment. We strongly support this effort and Virginia’s commitment to public transparency throughout the process.

President Trump’s effort to use emergency powers to impose broad-based tariffs on key allies and trading partners was unlawful and ill-advised from the start, and I am glad that the Supreme Court ruled against this egregious and destructive abuse of presidential power. (1/2)
Broad-based tariffs are a tax on American consumers, and the Trump Administration’s attempt to pretend otherwise was laughable in its inaccuracy and deeply disrespectful to the millions of American consumers who have faced higher prices because of Trump’s unaffordable economic policies. The Supreme Court did its job here in upholding the bedrock principle of separation of powers – Congress must step up and do the same on tariffs, war powers, and many other issues. (2/2)

I have filed a bipartisan resolution to block this war against Iran unless Congress votes to approve it. If some of my colleagues support war, then they should have the guts to vote for the war, and to be held accountable by their constituents, rather than hiding under their desks.
