Anyone who is lifting any kind of weight in their late 50s and 60s is already way beyond most of the rest of their peers. And if the so called strength coach was worth anything they would be commenting that the name of the game over 40 is to keep lifting, rather than worry about weight.

Is he kidding? 140kg bench press for reps (meaning your 1 rep max is probably around 160) touching 60 is a great score (whatever your body weight). For reference I can do 90kg, and I am quite happy with this (my deadlift and squats are better, I've always been a weak bencher).

Once you start your time will increase pretty quickly if you do it everyday. My tip is to move around (moving hips left and right, or up and down slightly) once in the squat from time to time (a few times per 60sec). It helps you get deeper than just holding in one place

I've been deep squatting (human squat) for 5 minutes per day all though January. Used to be hard to hold it for 5 mins and agony getting out of it. Holding it 5 is now pretty easy and I can straighten up with minimal swearing. (57 years old for ref,)
