I don’t have a good way of sneaking it into a fic yet (except a short drabble about miqo’te), but I love this idea of Azem keeping a notebook with doodles of familiars she wants to create and Venat using those drawings in the hopes that some parts of Azem will remember herself.

My HC is that the different player races in XIV are all creations of Azem. Hydaelyn sundered the Ancients, but she remembered how much Azem loved her familiars, so she split mankind into those races. In a convoluted way, she was hoping Azem’s familiars would find their way back to their creator.
