In this new reality, the EU must defend the rules-based international order. Violations of international law must not be accepted, human rights violations must not be tolerated.

Freedom and human rights cannot be achieved through bombs. Only international law upholds them.

Constitutional Communication Scholars advocating various normative and positive theories endorse the notion that the Constitution is communicative of its meaning. However, there has been li

FWIW, this was my article where I adapted and updated the Shannon-Weaver communication model to constitutional interpretation, including visualizations of the dominant theories of interpretation at the time (2016). I think constitutional scholars should do far more of this.

Doesn't this basically boil down to scope creep of perfectly justifiable anti-terrorism legislation?

"PA couldn't be legally designated a terrorist organisation so we'll introduce a new law that allows us to achieve the same effect"?

The amendment inserts a clause allowing the Secretary of State to designate groups as Extreme Criminal Protest Groups if they commit serious public order offences to influence policy or democratic functions & creating offences for membership, promotion or support of such groups.

I've just hit 125 1-on-1 student meetings this year. 2500 minutes of conversation about constitutional law, & legal theory, about passions, anxieties, life.. What never came up once? AI. Our smart interesting students deserve more than these vacuous, and endless, conversations on the subject.

It's also an urgent political project β€” the foundation for sweeping institutional and legal reforms, including unpacking the Court.

Like, the lobby hacks stopped pretending ages ago that this stuff didn’t happen, because *they also read the books full of Reed, McSweeney and others bragging to their journo colleagues*. Most people find it quite embarrassing to deny things that they know are true.

After every election in which the left have been in control they develop a stab in the back theory in order to justify their own failure. In 1983 it was Kinnock betraying Tony Benn.
Sadly this time, the narrative the left have chosen is that Jews stopped victory. Thats this book.

There is alot in this interview with @ZackPolanski. What is infuriating is his denialism of antisemitism in my party and leaning into crank conspiracy. Let's have a little look back in time:...

I don’t think you can keep doing this after the culprits - Labour right MPs and party PRs, mainly - spent a year bragging loudly at respected journalists about all the awesome wrecking they did, and how cunning and effective it was. And those journos then wrote prominent books about what they said.

The President of the USA is now openly threatening Iran with being the target of one of the greatest crimes in world history. Trump is saying he will destroy the basis of life for more than 90 million people.
He should be removed from office for this.

Honestly, I am absolutely disgusted by academics suggesting that AI can do the reading and writing for you. At a certain point, what you're bragging about is fraud. And in a broader sense, what you're contributing to is the erosion of knowledge and the destruction of trust in academic publishing.

When the US or Israel blatantly violate int law for their own gain we mustn't mistake it for an effort to reform an imperfect system of laws.

Thanks @tomdannenbaum.bsky.social & @bechamilton.bsky.social for saying this with clarity and integrity.

I haven't lived in Glasgow for a few years, and spent some time living in London, but Glasgow's where I grew up and where I've lived most of my life.

Buildings like Union Corner become a fixture of life you take for granted. It's devastating to see its fantastic architecture burned to the ground...

Purely from an IP law perspective, trying to "opt out" something that is at minimum a right of publicity issue and which has potential reputational issues for the involved experts is a bold move.

A very bold move.

A really really bold move.

Major funders should ban publishing of funded outputs in for-profit journals.

Not a long term solution to the journal problem, but a helpful start.
