micchy is genuinely so interesting to me. i really cant think of another character in rider that's like him, and that's super impressive im ngl

if you like gotchard thats great btw my ass just did not vibe with whatever the protag's name was like. immediately. and nowadays i dont have it in me to keep watching a show that's 40+ eps if i cant even be neutral towards the protag

when i say people should watch obscure shit from over a decade ago/hobbyani/seinen/etc it's not because i think it'd always be for everyone, but because it gets you exposed to random shit that you might end up really liking. anime is so much more than mainstream powerscaling shounens my lord
if all anime is to you is hype moments/"insane animation" then yeah it's gonna get stale after awhile. you'll get tired of the formulaic moments in a show bc they usually follow the same beats/aesthetics [esp if theyre from the 2010s/2020s] anime is so commodified in general now too
"dani you didnt even watch the video" i know. and i understand that its likely a critique of modern anime [of which i fully stand behind/agree with] but my opinion still stands that if you only watch one genre of anime it WILL inevitably get stale, esp if its all from the same time period
