Green Party say 'Hannah Spencer won't be silenced' after Manchester violence Hannah Spencer, Gorton and Denton's newly-elected MP, was ushered into a police car amid the unfolding chaos

Transphobia is a rot that hurts everyone. Everyone should be safe in our city centre, and this kind of violence for clickbait is unacceptable. Full solidarity with @greenpartyhan.bsky.social and bravo to her for staying resolute against these bullies. www.manchestereveningnews.co.uk/news/greater...

This is the stupidest g.d. thing I have read all day.

Clinical policy for prescribing of masculinising and feminising hormones for children and adolescents who have gender incongruence or dysphoria
Overview

NHS England is committed to working with a wide range of patients, patient groups and other stakeholders in developing the services it commissions.

In line with NHS England’s published methods for the formation of national clinical commissioning policy, public consultation presents an important step in the process. It allows us to test and get feedback on proposals; check that draft policies are well evidenced; ensure potential impacts have been fully captured, are clearly understood and that appropriate mitigations have been identified; and, consider alternatives before final decisions are taken.

β€œIn 2025 a Policy Working Group was formed by NHS England to establish the evidence base for MAF Hormones.”

As part of the response to the Cass Report, published in 2024, and alongside the immediate further restrictions put in place, NHS England committed as a priority action to conduct a full review of the MAF Hormones policy through a process of updated evidence review and public consultation.

In 2025 a Policy Working Group was formed by NHS England to establish the evidence base for MAF Hormones. NHS England commissioned a third party to undertake a further independent evidence review of published evidence including research that had been published since NICE’s previous review of the evidence in 2021.

The Crank Report basically laid out the methodology for how an evidentiary basis for transphobic policy can be assembled, by cooking the books and being selective with "evidence" for no good reason.

The NHS's decision to drive trans youth towards suicide and self harm to support a Nazi political position makes me deeply ashamed to have been an NHS nurse.

I'm utterly sickened by the perversion of science being used to justify killing kids for this government.

β€œAppel asks what would have happened if he had been shuffled into a modern gender dysphoria diagnosis system, and the answer is it would have gone nowhereβ€”because he never stated himself that he was a girl.”

IDK if people are talking about Kai Cenat's public reading journey, but he's using his power for good.

A lot of people can't read. At least not at what we consider adequate levels. And it is not their fault. Society as a whole severely pulled away from literacy advocacy.

Generally, I agree with this. IMO there will always be people working to worsen lives and remove freedoms. While changing minds is important, it's also important to fix the material problems that are currently happening.

The more effective way to stop terrible people is to stop their actions.

Don’t think the conditions are the same as GA but what I don’t think people understand is the new strain of southern democrat is unabashedly progressive and has suburban backing. It’s happening from NC to Texas.

South Carolinians Continue Colleague's Push for Maternal Health Healthcare leaders convened to honor the legacy of Dr. Janell Green Smith and to explore ways to achieve maternal health equity in the state.

β€œRecent data shows that Black women in the state β€œare four times more likely to die as a result of complications related to childbirth,” she says. β€œAnd that is maddening in and of itself, because there’s no biological reason for that.””

One day I'll write about it fully. Until then - anyone pretending that the fight for LGBT+ rights was respectful and civil (and we were always LGBT+, even when some cis gays and lesbians were doing their best to exclude the rest of us - the rest of us were still fighting) - well, fuck that lie.

Sometimes something will jog a memory of those years, and I'll realise just what an enormous well of anger there still in - that grew up alongside me during Section 28, unequal age of consent, no rights for queer partners - the narrative that we were automatically abusers, degenerates, defective.

No one before Ben has ever considered that trans women might actually be effeminate gay boys. No one has ever suggested such a thing to us, repeatedly, in a bid to prevent us from transitioning, or developed entire typologies around the idea, or reinforced it in multiple academic fields!

The approximate cause of death for Anne Frank was the Nazis. The specific cause of death was the outbreak of Typhus at Bergen-Belsen camp, which overtook her (and others) from chronic malnutrition and medical abuse. These conditions are not, in character, unlike our system of immigration camps today
