I am very much trying to get the Demon Souls platinum video edited before my stream tonight, but we're gonna be cutting it close. I'm really happy with how it's coming together - might be my favourite video in a long while.

It's almost certainly not genuine, for the exact reasons you laid out. It's "easy" content that will get tons of clicks / ad rev - because it's no secret that negative videos do better in the algorithm than positive videos. People also have a clear "hype" addiction and YouTubers prey on that.

I do think that hype has become an addictive prospect for gamers over the past few years, and I think a lot of YouTubers know & feed into that to keep their numbers up.

It's not my cup of tea - not after the 2018 era. But you'd think more people would realize this in 2026?

I keep seeing "Nintendo Direct hype" discourse in my For You tab and ngl, people do realize that most of the YouTubers making those types of videos are just doing it because it makes them bank, right?

Get a ridiculous amount of views for barely any effort. None of them are "actually" concerned.

So this weekend I'm not available due to a two-day D&D finale with some friends. And I have a few videos I need to work on this week, so we'll only be streaming Monday & Friday.

They have unimaginable power and if you ever meet someone who's fursona is this they can cast spells and hex you.

I just love that they took the pseudo-open world concept we saw in RE4R's lake chapter and made it a full experience. I don't need every RE or survival horror game to go that route, but it's super fun.
