Well, the Mean Eyed Cat 8th birthday party was a lot of fun. Good beer, good company, a great cake, and a magician! His sleight of hand was unbelievable 😀

- Absolutely tiny pub tucked away in a post office
- good selection of cans and I think they had 4 Taps
- they weren't strictly 'open' but the wee woman behind the counter let me pull up a chair and enjoy a can

Time to take a deep breath as we dive into the deluge of North Shields pubs. Too many to count, so I'll be taking a tour of a few over the next week or two.
The Old Black Lion was one of the first you would have confronted leaving the New Quay, right next to the Golden Fleece.
