I worked with Janet at the DfE - she was my fellow policy adviser (supporting Lib Dem ministers). She was brilliant and cares more about local government than anyone I've ever met so if you happen to live in her ward do vote for her.

FSA chair @tomgreatrex.bsky.social in Parliament today outlining why high ticket prices are an “exploitation of supporter loyalty”.
Fears that clubs in this country could look at FIFA & Spain where dynamic pricing is used to push up costs. Has to be resisted.

Today I’m at the BayArena for Leverkusen-Gladbach. Can talk about that later. Some things are bigger than football though and Udo, who worked in the Leverkusen press bistro, was one of them. 😞
Do have a listen to @carysafoko.bsky.social and Gary Younge on this week's @overunderpod.bsky.social pod, particularly but not limited to the excellent analysis of how we should think about the Gaza ceasefire. Brilliant as always.

I went to Fulham, a football club that wants to grow and build their revenue.
They really need to find a way of doing it that doesn't alienate matchgoing supporters and puts to an end this low-level civil war

Are we witnessing the best striking duo of Fulham's modern history?
www.fulhamish.co.uk/post/2025-01...
Yes exactly that.
To a lesser extent they failed on that front too seeing as the Riverside had been 100% exclusive access and now it's open to all supporters post game.
I wonder if any supporter groups warned AM about this?? 🤷♂️🤷♂️🤷♂️ I guess we will never know
I genuinely think the fanbase has shrunk. Hence falling ticket prices, games hardly selling out, more offers on games, etc. Probably contributed to the loyalty point decision, too. They just won't ever admit it they've got it badly wrong over a number of years.
Without digging back into the details, club confirmed that this was the same for all STH when originally advertised.
But they also advertised that a perk was "Having access to the concourse before the game".
Starting to imagine a world where we see "Tickets available for Riverside stand season ticket holders first. All other Fulham supporters will receive a poo."

Not written anything in a while. Then Chelsea 1-2 Fulham happened. So here’s why it matters, partly to Fulham fans and partly to me.

Sorry would not have seen as no longer on there
Fulham not selling arguably the most in demand away of the season not by the loyalty points system is a wild move that I did not foresee coming. It's going to be chaos getting a ticket for this one.
May be someone who spent £3k on a season ticket argued they were more deserving?
Added to that, they're both integral to the way Fulham play. Specifically, and we've seen it a couple of times before, but Fulham is a different team without Robinson.
It won't make many headlines, but that was a brilliant performance from Fulham that deserved more. Out-performed Spurs in almost every area of the pitch. Silva continues to perform wonders with this team.
"For the love of me" is on brand for you too. Absolutely sent me. 😂
To clarify, I think the recruitment has been excellent in the past few years. Though there's a policy to not risk on lower value prospects. Total guess, but might be a Marco request, I suspect to keep the squad depth at a certain level of proven players, there may be an upper limit to his capacity.

Sensational. Also the least amount of losses of any season. And looking at the fixtures, the losses were against Man U (2), Arsenal, Liverpool and Villa. We praise Tigana, rightly, for the football but maybe his defensive area could get more guff
Surprised to see 01-02 so high..!
Disappointing that the term "half spaces" is now being picked up instead of my phrase the "love handles of the box".
