My daughter finished her PhD in Chem (Materials) 2 yrs ago. She did poorly on every multiple choice test she ever took - always overthinking. She took her ACT 6 times, getting a 26-28 each time, but 32 was her goal. In undergrad, her Chemistry professors knew her abilities gave her written tests.
