and Maxey/Edgecomb. Also I totally have irrational hope which is why I don't gamble. Like at least once a few times a week I am like what if they all get healthy and make a deep run this year?

My sixers fandom started with Iverson's rookie year, and I think his successes and failures gave me the foundation to enjoy the personalities win or lose. Jo carried that torch. Sure every fan base feels that way about their guys, but I think we are objectively lucky to get to root for AI and JO.

Not optimistic but rockets vs a hypothetically healthy Sixers team towards of the season coule be Important on two fronts.

I am seeing Black Eyes reunion show with Downtown Boys two weeks from tomorrow. I expect all Sixers to be healthy and happy by then (Maxey at least happy).

it's the (good) Doc Rivers strategy.

So, I do think that 3 guard/small lineups will need to be leaned on. You give limited players to have more room to drive and shoot. It also allows the athletic players who can't shoot more room to attack. You drive kick, spam 3's with league average shooters (some better) might keep boat afloat.

This is not a shot at Maxey, but his skillset is the easiest thing to find on an NBA roster (obviously not at his efficacy + volume). Edgecomb, Grimes, Oubre, and to a lesser extent Payne can all scale up. But for it to work due to their limitations they need lineups that cater to them.

One more game like that and he will have better per 36 numbers than McCain and we can never discuss the trade ever again!

Yeah, it's still insane thing to do, but the FT is only single part that is impressive in Bam's stat line.

It was actually also against the Grizzlies!

It was in 2020. Player no longer in NBA. 34 Points.

@avi-wa.bsky.social Cam Payne scored 32 points last night. Who was the last Sixer to score more points off the bench?

(I'm guessing you skipped the game last night otherwise this is very easy).

Don’t let Edwards get hot!

Tyrese Martin dreamed for days like this. Cam Payne flew back from Europe to tussle with the bearded one. Today is why Grimes took the qualifying offer. Beauchamp means handsome field in French and Kelly Oubre is blessed.

112-107 Sixers. put it on the board.

fine with a center you can build a d around. better than the non rim protecting 4/5 who might be able to shoot.

haha true. thinking outside the box is signing a player after player on their past achievements. look at the numbers!

Like it would be great if GMs made unpopular moves that worked out well but I can’t really think about a Tim that’s happened? Like Knicks fans are mad about their trades but I think they are delusional and over value Brunson.

I consider myself a PG skeptic before hand but I still happy with the signing. it’s hard for me to be upset at a move that the consensus was mostly positive. it’s why the McCain deal hurts because if he’s good, Morey went against the common consensus(not to compare them necessarily ).

Yeah I think that makes sense and definitely played into the blowup the next year.

Didn’t Simmons make that choice tho? I guess the trade rumors year before were part of it. Looking back he also seems to have been really injured and that was part of his overall meltdown.

I guess it depends on idea of execution getting picks and useful players for harden and then getting PG was masterful! except it wasn’t because harden is much better and healthier.

06.03.2026 15:51 👍 1 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0

With regards to playoffs I think if healthy they are good enough to beat anyone and it wouldn’t be a big upset. the lack of continuity does more damage to the numbers than just games missed. but still beating multiple high level teams seems unlikely.

Like they traded Horf when he was a distressed asset when he was still good for a few years. recently he’s had great execution of really bad (but possibly good) plans!

06.03.2026 15:46 👍 1 🔁 0 💬 1 📌 0

Honestly think that’s 2 much credit and too hard on him. the vibes sucked but if they just played Horf at back up center and traded Richardson for Curry they would probably of been really good and not lost the draft picks that stops them from making better deals.

They played like shit, so I sort of understand everyone complaining about the sixers close win. But also, if the Sixers put that roster out every night, they would be in a good position to keep their draft pick. That's a bottom 5 team in the league who shouldn't be expected to beat anyone.

From the river to the sea please let them stay on the player they are guarding.

Yeah, a lot of strange incidents. It feels like his body is always falling apart but at the same time it seems like a normal reaction to an elbow to the check bone. The Kuminga one I think was caused because he was playing hurt and he didn't have the needed flexibility in that knee. Still so many!

wow I knew they were playing shows but have to check it out. Le Jardin is a cassette tape I wore the fuck out of.

Are we concerned about Jo’s injury? I know are all used to him being injured but it seems like it could be serious if he’s not able to raise hand without serious pain.

There is something refreshing about watching an actual backup point guard set up an offense lol.
