I can see why standard poodles are good for apt dwellers. She is the laziest 3 yr old dog ever. She enjoys her daily walk in the woods, but is not at all enthusiastic about playing ball or much of anything else. Some of this may be due to her first 2 yrs being locked up in a filthy ourdoor kennel.
There is nothing more impractical than a poodle in the woods. She would never have been our choice, but she is a far cooler dog than we expected. That constantly growing coat, though! We've mostly had GSDs and mutts. They couldn't be more different.

It's really great to finally have them both off leash. Tohru had to get over chasing the large modot trucks that use our street and Todd was just that jerk that would just take off every chance he got. Something finally clicked in his 10 yr old brain that he can run free if he just sticks around.
