i really like the pet names they have for melinoë. apollo calls her sunshine. selene calls her little star. odysseus just calls her "princess" which feels more like endearment than title. eris calls her trouble. so many cute names.

where is the real interiority here? it’s ok for first time jitters, sure, but to act like it’s even offensive that the partner *who clearly likes them* is thinking about them physically—i have to wonder what’s really going on. what kind of relationship is this? she feels written by an editor.

i’m just really tired of girls, or even full adult women, acting like sex has never even occurred to them. like basic physical intimacy is just way too much too fast and they can’t handle it. we’re supposed to go “aww they’re so innocent” and it’s supposed to be cute, but it grates me.

i really can’t stand how much innocence and naivety is equated to
“virtuous” in romance anime. a lot of
times it’s not overt, more subcontext, but it’s heavily implied, usually by contrast. the heroine might admonish herself for her lack of experience, but of course it’s perfectly fine otherwise.
