Personally if I devoted my life to racing and was a top level athlete and after successfully winning a race I was told to go on a stage and sing and do idol shit I’d blow my brains out in front of my fans

I think they’re all just various ages like real people like some are teens and some are grown-ass women but they all dress in schoolgirl uniforms

Oh this also extends to them wearing school uniforms half of them are way too old to be required to dress like that. Again feels like they’re required to submit to gacha/idol tropes

I wish I’d known going into the movie that the plot was literally real life events bc I think that’s really cool to take horse races and ascribe personalities and motivations to them. The plot beats felt kinda out of place and confusing for me bc I didn’t have that context

I consistently think the worst part of uma musame is the insistence on corny idol shit that feels completely out of place and corporate mandated

I saw the uma musame movie with almost no prior knowledge. I like how everyone is deranged and then Dantsu Flame is just the most normal girl

i went to see this film having never touched any uma musume stuff before and it was pretty fun how it maps real life horseracing history as a character-driven narrative.

also i think dantsu was secretly leeching away pocket's boobs, perhaps unwittingly
