I’m interested to see the results. Especially when it comes to deploying pipelines in environments not previously using Python.

PEN ISN'T MIGHTIER THAN SWORD.
PENS DON'T WIN BATTLES, AND SWORDS DON'T WRITE POETRY.
MIGHTY IS THE HAND THAT KNOWS WHEN TO PICK THE PEN AND WHEN TO PICK THE SWORD.

When an unauthorized, uncleared person or persons accesses a core computer system or network it's all but impossible to know with any degree of certainty that they didn't leave malicious code behind somewhere. The result: all the hardware and software must be scrapped and replaced. /1

Can’t wait for Grok to hallucinate and just throw random things into the “upgrades”.

Can’t imagine these would be legal in Europe or privacy respecting locations.

This is a wild read. So much for keeping a massive pace on things and just forgetting all the old infra.

I've done an unusual number of mentoring calls this week, and one thing I'd like to remind everyone is, you are enough, and you can't forget how far you've come. You're most likely in the best position you've ever been in to build on top of everything you've done until this point.

How to structure projects when you’re used to just scripting a single file.

How to orchestrate running projects in Windows environments where the admins know nothing of orchestration or Python.

It takes $$ to take care of infrastructure, but it’s money well spent when the infra takes care of you too.

Producing useless bullshit more quickly is not an improvement in educational outcomes. Why would doing things in "a fraction of the time" is usually takes be a good thing? Why do we so disrespect the labor of teaching and learning as to wish it away by outsourcing it to something that cannot think?

#Python crowd, for those using @pola.rs is there a way to remove items from a list object or do you just create a new list minus what needs to be removed?

For context, I create a list of selected df columns and use that for transforms then want to drop _most_ of the same columns later on.

I kind of forgot about Harlequin. I’ve used it on my work machine for DuckDB, but it’s been a bit.

Thanks for the suggestions!

#DataBS #Python #MacOS:

What are your go to apps for doing data work and development?

I gifted myself a MacBook and I’m coming off of Windows 10. I’m familiar with common IDEs and cli tools like DuckDB, but not sure what I might be missing.

Also looking for good mouse and CLI setup suggestions.

The SomaFM Christmas Lounge music channel was a refreshing change for me.

No Nevill Brothers or Mariah Carey.
