WHAT?!
I really don't know what it is!
I know G Maxwell's dad was a spy for the british during WW2 so there are several implications here. But, either way, it's just So Gross
I'm sorry... Project MAXWELL?
Itβs incredibly dystopian how pretty much every consumer tech company is going all in on the idea that we all should wear a body cam stuffed with a chatbot.
I'm not surprised, and I do agree that it's been suppressed on bluesky (dunno about twitter, I'm not on twitter). Buuuuut supporting Tiktok's monopoly by implying it's the only place to get information is not the way to critique social media control of information
Mmm yeah, I agree, but this comes across as "the only place to get information now is TikTok" and I think that is equally as misleading
You don't need to be on a specific social media algorithm owned by a billionaire that wants to use his entertainment empire to aid in mass surveillance to get that news, though
You could just watch Al Jazeera
So, if you didn't know:
Rafah has been ethinically cleansed and flattened. The city is gone. Let that sink in.
Venezuela blocked oil exports to Cuba. They don't have power at all. There's trash laying on the streets. They're at serious risk of various diseases. They're cooking with firewood.
Thank you~~

I've been kind of shying away from paints for a while now, but I'm going to do my best to get used to them from now on π€

animation is expensive but its not supposed to be $150-200 million dollars expensive and its ridiculous to spend that much.
Warm ups part 1
Warm ups part 2
Warm ups part 3
Warm ups part 4
I went to art school...
I had no clue this is what people meant by "warm ups". Like, a whole routine? Each part specific and functional? Dang.
Probably would have less "forgot how to draw" days if I did these every time. I'm gonna try it.
Photo shows a sketchbook sitting open on a wooden desk easel. The sketchbook shows a painting created with gouache paint, an opaque watercolor medium. The painting depicts a nature scene of a pathway between large redwood trees on a sunny day with bright light shining through green leaves.

Been trying to figure out how to make the "use filters to paint on top of greyscale paintings" look less digital and realised I could just go back to the old oil painting methods (IE think about local colour and light sources) and that did the trick much better than any filter or light layer!
Testing a painting method and ... yes I think this works pretty well
OH YEAH! only 3 writers here can live from library money, and they're the ones beloved by the elderly and the nationalists (a venn diagram that Almost forms a circle)
(That's 300 USD btw)
I see American graphic novel pricing and raise you Danish "but they can just live off of library money and we'll take the rest" comic rates of 2000 DKK after taxes - for a whole graphic novel
Also assume they're chasing down their paycheck (even from the Big 2).
And then factor that they often aren't paid until a minimum of 35 days after turning the work in (but often later than that), despite being held to deadlines for producing said work.
I am shocked to learn this is actually underestimating costs, because it ignores the infrastructure costs.
This video is lowballing it.

I know it comes out comics but I still find it so interesting that style has become synonymous with individual vibes, rather than skill
It feels like it has become the new "talent"
