We're about to go through the same process for Emergency Medicine - which is planned to be a primary specialty from 2026.
How is it in your countries? What do you think of this?
In Portugal up to 2017 you had to have a clinical specialty (generally 5-year residency) to then do a 2-year subspecialty in critical care. It is now a primary specialty that you can access after you finish university and that became the only way to be an intensive care specialist since 2021.
So the only thing that is kinda weird from changing to the other place to where the sky is blue is how empty my account feels all of a sudden 😅
