When I last talked to some of my GOP friends who strangely loved Polymarket in 2024 (probably bc at the time it showed Trump winning the election) they couldn’t or pretended not to understand that it was not in any way a reliable predictor of voter sentiment and rather just dudes betting.

This is obviously ripe for abuse. Can’t speak for SF, but LA is notorious for overtime being the bulk of some sheriff’s, police officer’s, and firefighter’s pay. Top earners are usually supervisors, like sergeants, and fire captains and can make $500,000+, I kid you not.

Voting/primary challenges/public pressure are effective methods of obtaining political power. Not voting is a very poor method of obtaining political power. We should focus on effective methods which seem to have worked

A lot of people epically failed to accept the basic reality that the 2024 election was an election with huge moral stakes and a clear right and wrong answer (for a wide range of reasons). They now are twisting themselves into knots to protect themselves from accepting that moral failing.
