Sonja The Red as a complex, foul mouthed, sharp witted, tough as nails trauma survivor with serious PTSD, who struggles to live up to her status as a living legend, and I loved this! Great villains, cool monsters, and a very entertaining story. π‘οΈπ‘οΈπ‘οΈπ‘οΈ

Same. I have five shelves dedicated to his work!
A calico cat sitting on her cat tower with a very judgmental look.
Judgmental, for sure! πΈ
Donβt know if itβs real, but I certainly agree with it.
π Had such a great time reading it! Please tell me thereβs a sequel coming!
Holy shit, there's a sizable excerpt of CRONE up at SciFiNow, the prologue and first chapter. Real easy to catch the tone of the book and see if it's your thing.
I'll put preorder links in the comments. Thanks!

A broken down, world weary, old guy sitting in his reading chair while his tortoiseshell calico cat, Khaleesi, tries her best to not look at the camera. A bookshelf loaded with Stephen King hardcovers is seen in the background.
Red Sonja : Consumed by Gail Simone.
Reading a great book, and hanging out with my familiar on this much needed day off. Happy Thursday everybody!
I think enjoying some comics and a cup of tea is peak woke and I endorse it utterly.
I hope you stay on this book for a long, long time.
They look fantastic!

Thanks! Itβs better now. Made it home, the dogs are lined up for belly rubs, and my book is calling to me. π
That looks heavenly. Iβm stuck at work, so Iβm in my unhappy place! π

Only that one! π

Continuing my reread of one of my favorite Vertigo comic series from the 90βs. This book is bonkers, and in my opinion, the final arc of this volume is where this series goes from good to great, and Chris Bachaloβs art here is some of my favorite comic art of all time.
I've finished a new Dancy Flammarion novelette, "Gethsemane," to be released later this year by Subterranean Press as a small hardback. Illustrator to be announced (the below illustration was done by Steve Leiber for the Dark Horse Alabaster comic). This is my first Dancy story since 2019.
Not good. Been off the charts for the last year.
I guess I finally need to get to it. Itβs been on my shelf since its release.
