Got off the train an hour and a half ago and I finished the book. It is so much better than the Zeta Gundam novels once it finally gets going. I'm not even joking, like most of the weird Tomino comments drop off and it's off to the races. Woo!

Kenneth's ex-wife was one controlling blond white woman: she would force him to say I love you constantly and never forgot to remind him that attending his child's sports meets was a father's undebatable responsibility. There were many occasions where he just wanted to tell her off and say he was a pilot before anything else. They ended up getting divorced in the end, but Kenneth still liked blond white women nonetheless.

Oh that's just what I refer to Tomino's style of writing, particularly where he trails off and makes the most unnecessary, and sometimes weirdly offensive or off-putting, comments and then shifts right back into storytelling.
