This review synthesizes insights into cytonuclear incompatibility in plant hybrids and allopolyploids, highlighting maternal bias, evolutionary consequences, and applications such as cytoplasmic male sterility in seed production.
Science – the incremental and constructive pursuit of truth – is fundamentally a rebellion against those who would use ignorance to enslave, dominate, and control. Though it may seem an ineffectual form of combat, pursuing truth is anathema to authoritarianism, and is thus virtuous and worthwhile.
