Agreed. We should've shown more ambition, but he was sold on a buy young, develop, sell on model. Being surprised we're not throwing 80 mil+ on each signing is ridiculous

He's trying to get sacked now. Whatever our thoughts are about the clubs ambition at board level, why would they do whatever he says and invest in signings for him this window given he said he's off in summer?
I've lost a lot of respect for Glasner. 10 games without a win, says he's not staying, then complains the club aren't bending over backwards to keep a manager who says he's leaving.
Imo he's trying to get sacked for ยฃยฃ now. Unprofessional and a sad end to his Palace career #cpfc
Needs to get measured up for a tin foil hat
He's had a few of these
I'm of the firm belief that we in London should embrace Trump's idiotic rumours if the net affect is fewer MAGA people here as tourists #london
Liverpool/Spurs/Palace/Brighton fan confirmed
@mattwoosie.bsky.social any update on the stadium redevelopment? Was meant to start this summer and has been radio silence since. Given how long it's taking (surely nearly 10 years now?) it feels like it's unlikely to ever happen.
Worth saying this isn't an attack on your point - I just think Guehi's remaining contract length has been overlooked in the discourse about playing fair vs dirty in this comparison. In January he can effectively choose any club in the world and secure a bag. The other two didn't have that power
Liam, is it not fair to say Guehi's situation was very distinct? Wissa and Isak both had contacts that did not expire next summer, Guehi did. Both Isak and Wissa had formal bids considerably earlier in the window, unless I'm mistaken Guehi did not.
Power is still overwhelmingly with the clubs imo.
This is great chat, a like didn't do it justice, well done
Matt did you see the pre halftime penalty shout? Perplexed as to why Marc getting punched in the back of the head isn't a penalty
A bureaucracy specifically designed to exclude clubs that don't suit UEFAs business model. What possible design could they have been going for by setting a deadline months before qualification was confirmed if not to exclude clubs with outside chances?
Fuck CAS, fuck UEFA, Fuck Marinakis. Corrupt to its core - if this was a big 6 team it wouldn't be happening. A system designed to exclude clubs that don't suit their business model. UEFA should be ashamed of themselves #cpfc
Given that United and Nice are part of the same ownership group, same with City and Girona, both of whom competed in the same European competitions last season, I'm not particularly worried
Little reunion with Guaita
To say I'm gutted that I'm not at the Final today is an understatement. Can't even watch unless BA's WiFi is strong enough...
Unreal day out. Also very kid friendly to those that have them imo - still lots of drinking but a more communal atmosphere and less raucous than some at Wembley
First bar I went to in Tokyo, we're absolutely massive
Smoking weed is a Cardinal sin
Regardless of cost I should say
Always thought that with things like this, if dramatically reducing child poverty, or at the MINIMUM not letting it rise is not a government imperative then you are living in a failed system
JUST PUT THE BALL IN THE NET MAN
With your infrastructure, brand, training centres and catchment area if you give it a few years without panicking could be back in title contention but need your board and fans to be patient. Will be an interesting one to watch!
I'm somewhat angling towards understanding whether the extra mil or so we would've had to pay to Sainsbury's for the car park (as I recall one of the big reasons for previous delays?) would've been offset by the vast extra expense accruing here and in extra planning work.
@mattwoosie.bsky.social not to be a pedant but I assume that the quoted cost doesn't include the 8 years worth of consultants, architects and wages of people involved in the planning? Always a vast "hidden" cost to these things
Deeply concerning how poorly this seems to have been managed. I realise there are 500 moving parts, there are always delays in big development projects ESPECIALLY in London estates but costs more than doubling and no work being done is incredibly weak management
Still a game to go in GW32!
Think it's been one of your problems in recent years. Need to accept being mid/a bit shite for a year or two, back a top manager and get players they want rather than "glamour" signings that plug gaps in the wrong way (imo)
Bar Europe, the stakes are incredibly low for them for the remainder of the season. Realise he can't replace every player but makes more sense to get them used to the system and tell them it's this way or a summer exit - no point adapting at this stage surely?
