Allow me to introduce you to Sonselasuchus cedrus, a new bipedal, beaked and herbivorous crocodile-relative that lived during the Late Triassic in North America

Utah has a really great Geologic Record. Cambrian sites like Spence, Wheeler, Weeks and Marjum are quickly becoming some of the most important globally, and in the Cenozoic you have amazing mammal assemblages, as well as Lake Uinta. Definitely one of the best places on the planet for fossils.

If you want to support a museum and get a pretty cool book, I recommend this book illustrated by @joschuaknuppe.bsky.social. Lots of really good info, I just hope that itโ€™s easier for people to get their hands on relatively soon.

yeah, its really frustrating when people are expecting individuals to face systemic issues that reach so much further beyond *just* paleontology. I've literally had to see folks far more academically well-off than I reconsidering investing their time into the field recently because of everything.

I wish I could express my dismayal at the current state of the field of Paleontology without people saying "be the change you want to see in the world" like that helps any. The field is harder and harder to be in, from all angles: Cost, Academia, and the power that so many awful people still hold.

A group of Dorygnathus use a Seirocrinus raft as a hunting ground for fish, when a big Eurhinosaurus suddenly breaches the surface.

This scene takes place in Germany during the Early Jurassic, around 180 million years ago.

If you want to support the Palestine Museum of Natural History (which is currently renovating) you can do that directly, by donating, or by producing artwork for them! I already donated some artwork to them

Here the result of the Ein Yabrud quarry #paleostream. An important locality from the Cretaceous of Palestine. While mostly famous for it's marine snakes and early mosasauroids, beautiful fish fossils and rich invertebrate fauna are completing this picture!

I, too, would like to have a go at the new Spinosaurus soon, but in the meantime:
Here's a slide from my recent talk, which covers the DOs and DON'Ts of restoring ginkgoes within palaeoart!

Former Microsoft executiveโ€™s relationship with Jeffrey Epstein comes under scrutiny Seattle Times business reporter Alex Halverson has written about connections between Epstein and former Microsoft executive Nathan Myhrvold.

If the paleo community is going to be serious about Hornerโ€™s connection to Epstein, we also have to be serious about Myhrvoldโ€™s, because guess who contributed photos of animals mating to Epsteinโ€™s birthday book and has been appearing in new paleo papers this year - including the new Spinosaurus.
