I've never seen the Hellboys, but really like PAN and saw PACIFIC RIM in IMAX way back when (at least I *think* it was IMAX) and it was a fun ride.

GDT isn't exactly "one of my guys", but I'll tell you this: he's one of the nicest human beings I've ever met throughout my career.

If this goes thru it will accelerate Hollywood’s precipitous decline. Thousands laid off. Creatives w/fewer studios willing to bid on projects. Fewer choices of what to watch for consumers. Possibly a death blow for theatrical filmgoing. Just terrible news all around

It’s only a problem if you feel the need to respect continuity. Which the Bond Franchise absolutely DOES NOT need to do, and in fact, is what got them into this mess to begin with and was the biggest mistake the Craig era made.

I mean, with the rise of indies and the easy ability to distribute (read: steam) this isn’t SUPER surprising.

The real question is quality v. quantity. How many of these releases are actually worth playing?

Never seen Friedkin’s JADE and am on a bit of a Friedkin kick so…

Do I go theatrical (generally how I prefer to watch a film for the first time) or Director’s Cut (which always tends to be just more “stuff” but for a movie like this might actually restore censored material? I dunno?)

Just finished watching IN THE MOUTH OF MADNESS for the first time.

Kind of insane that I live like 12 minutes away from Hobb's End (aka Unionville Main Street) and literally no one around here talks about the fact that fucking John Carpenter shot a movie here.

Seeing as most trilogies have ultimately ended up being anything but (thanks to poorly advised lega-sequles) what would you consider to be the best true trilogy?

I love how the 35mm version of Jurassic Park looks. It actually helps with the special effects not look as outdated. This is the ideal way to watch any movie - in the wrong aspect ratio and with the boom mic visible
