Today I needed to get some work done so I went completely offline. Phone in a different room. Laptop not on the WiFi. CDs instead streaming music.
Got some work done but mostly really appreciating my old CD collection, really came through for me.

Reminds me of being 18, unsure of Dublin geography and I hopped on the 118 thinking it was an 11B.

Once in 1993 we were going shopping and saw a balloon of a giant tied to the ground outside Crazy Prices in Portlaoise. My parents got all excited like they’d seen a celebrity, telling me “you don’t get it, that’s the actual Gulliver!”.

Hard disagree. Have had this discussion with my Norwegian wife many times. But I’ll keep eating lots of both to check if my taste ever recalibrates.

Anyone else have it hammered into them as a teen that when directory enquires says “would you like me to connect you” the only acceptable answer was “absolutely not”.
