US politics is completely dominated by billionaires and their campaign financing.

Here in Canada, we should continue to protect the strict rules on campaign finance & donations.

At all levels, max donation is typically $1500-1750, and in BC donations cannot come from corporations or unions.

love how we killed the old, frail anti-nuke ayatollah just to have him replaced with his young, healthy son who wants nukes and who just had his father, mother, wife, and child murdered on the same day by his mortal enemy. surely this will bring peace to the region

Iraqi-Canadian women’s rights activist Yanar Mohammed worked under constant threat of violence — The Globe and Mail Mohammed was killed outside her Baghdad home by gunmen on March 2

RIP to one of the great voices of women’s rights and liberation in the Middle East. Murdered by unknown assailants.

It's amazing people will claim "Canada and the USA have the same culture" and then on something as fundamental as "do you trust your fellow citizens to be good" we are further apart than any other two countries

The spawn is on! 🐟

As you encounter herring eggs, consider snapping a photo and uploading the observation to iNaturalist. Annotate your observations as “Life Stage --> egg” and your observation will be automatically captured under our iNaturalist project, Pacific Herring Spawn and Nurseries

Your face isn’t public property.

BC’s Court of Appeal just ruled against Clearview AI for scraping billions of social media photos to build a facial recognition database without consent.

Big win for digital privacy in Canada. Consent still matters.

Last week, for the first time in 20 years, a man died from a treatable snake bite on my home island of Martinique. He had asked chatGPT what to do instead of going the hospital. He missed the 6 hours treatable window.

Really incredible in the worst way, that employee concerns dismissed and OpenAI failed to report to RCMP.

My assessment after listening to the six o’clock news: Evan Solomon sounds like a weak tech bro unlike David Eby, demanding accountability and regulatory change 💪

Staff were told by council months ago to post elsewhere, but haven't

And they're doing it for 12 accounts

It's one thing to have big, bold ideas. But we also have to show up.

Physically go to every riding. Say hello, sit down, listen. No matter how small the community.

This is the critical work of rebuilding. We have to show up for each other.
