Wheee~ hope you like it! π
Excited to have a new flash story out today in @nightmare-magazine.com!
βThe Doll Problemβ is inspired by a strange doll that appeared on a friendβs couch one summer and the burden of always overthinking things.

Wow, this made my day. Thanks so much for reading! ππ»

I felt so hopeful by the end, which isnβt an easy feat these days.
The cover for Uncanny Magazine Issue 64, βBarbershops of the Floating City" by Grace P. Fong: A woman stands facing the viewer, her qipao is a light blue color with flower designs in a darker shade of blue. Her long, black hair trails elegantly behind her while she holds a pair of scissors close to her chest. Behind there is a shadow that looks in the opposite direction, as if she is looking down at the city depicted below. At the top is a sun that crowns the two figures and bathes the entire picture in light. The quote reads: "You used to be in a band. Now you cut hair. The Institute hired you because youβre the daughter of the Floating Cityβs Founderβs fourth mistress, the one who always cooks up trouble when she gets too hungry. You donβt like the work, but you like all the different scissors."

βSuper Mario was based on an Italian man I saw die in an accident on a construction site. I thought to myself, βWhat if that man had been killed by a gorilla, rather than negligence?β - Shigeru Miyamoto
Happy Mario day!
Since this oneβs got a lot of unexpected love the past month, hereβs the poem I had the most fun writing last year:

βWhat We Mean When We Talk About the Hole in the Bathroomβ is the first Iβve read by @angelaliu.bsky.social and itβs great.
An emotional tale of a couple growing apart, and the lingering effects of our parents into adulthood. And a strange hole.

my 7-year-oldβs teacher: so, i hear you write?
me: *jump into a bush*
Went to my 7-year-oldβs class today for their poetry publishing party (the kids had just finished learning about rhyming + onomatopoeia) and my favorite line was from a poem called The Sun: βthe sand is hot and my feet go ahhh!β
for real, nothing makes me happier than translation requests π

Itβs my first time having a poem translated!
My Hugo-nominated poem, βthere are no taxis for the deadβ (from @uncannymagazine.bsky.social) is now available in Romanian in the new issue of Galaxia 42! Many thanks to Eliza Claudia Filimon for translating!

"Don't be so careful in time of death" is the motto I live by right now.
Whoa whoa, hope itβs not getting bigger and thereβre no voices coming from it ππ―οΈ
βDistance, like love, is a feeling you cannot measure until the end.β
This was an especially immersive read today as I read in a room that currently has a hole in the ceiling. Not sure I can look at it the same. π
Beautiful work Angela!!
Thanks for reading and the kind comments! (And nothing brings me more joy than knowing my story has made someone more concerned about the holes in their house π)
Thanks Charles! You too! π
