Frustrating part of the standard is for VA disability is that’s it’s more “i am traumatized by the year i spent getting shot at” and less “I am traumatized by spending a year pointing weapons at children while feeling invincible like only a 20yr old can & when I tell ppl about it they thank me”

I’m 40 something; living to 80 would be a statistical stretch so let’s say 75 & unless I take Really Good Care of myself -which I won’t- the last ~5 years are probably gonna suck regardless
