This is a really important find - unique in fact. It has slight similarities to a torc from Moulsford (in Reading Museum) but apart from that it's a totally new type. π§΅

Been on a tour of coastal defenses the last couple of days, monumental, and a looooot of concrete!
Pen and ink drawing of a timber framed house doorway. The door jambs are formed from timbers that rise through two storeys to the wall plate, with an attached timber forming a lintel. There is a cat sat on the threshold of the door.
Headcorn Manor, Headcorn, Kent. Recorded as part of the Royal Commission Kent project. The building is a 15th century Wealden hall house, the hall open to the roof and heated by a fire on a hearth set in the floor. Spot the cat on the threshold.
