Watched the sun come up at Snowbird this morning (Emily was pretty excited to be there) and then I shot a roll of Velvia 100 while we were out on the slopes. Probably only 4-5 months until I’ve accumulated enough rolls to bother mixing up some E6 😅
They have both. Respooled aerocolor, which is a print film, and respooled Ektachrome, which is a reversal.
FYI- by “despoiled” I mean re-spooled. Autocorrect.
Flic Film. It’s despoiled Ektachrome. But in a lot of places it’s quite a bit cheaper than buying the Kodak branded stuff.
That’s a noble goal- I hate all the subscription fees.
They do actually offer a perpetual license- looks like it’s $350 and just doesn’t receive future updates.

Anyone found a Lightroom alternative that isn’t a monthly or annually renewing license and which has a decent negative conversion tool or an available plugin?
I use a Patagonia Atom Sling bag. I can put my GA645 in it, along with my Mju, a snack, and a few rolls of film with no problem. When I want to use it, I ski up ahead and get my composition ready, then wait for my subject to enter the frame.
And we will too! This was our fourth year doing it with him and it’s always great. We’re just excited about the fact that he still thinks we’re cool enough to come and hang out with!
Another successful year of flying my nephew out to ski with us wherever we are spending the winter- we managed to get him out here in the only week all winter when there was good snow.

510 Pyro works just like HC-110 B, except you mix it 1:100 instead of 1:31. It even comes with a handy syringe. Just need to make sure you get their fixer too. You can use the fixer with any developer though. Once you try it you’ll never go back to HC-110.
To be fair, I haven’t found anything yet that 510 Pyro doesn’t work like absolute magic on, including Tri-X, but it’s definitely allowed me to find my way with HP5. I wrote a Substack post where I explain myself, which I’ve included below.

My love/disdain for HP5 is highly dependent on the developer I use. When using Phenidone/Hydroquinone devs like HC-110 & Microphen, I got lots of randomness and grain clumping I hated, despite Microphen being supposedly good at controlling that. X-Tol 1+1 and especially 510 Pyro work great with it.
Mine still look good, but I’m working from a batch that I bought about 9 months ago and just recently mixed.

I would second Tatiana Hopper and Karin Majoka. Lina Bessanova as well. And if you’re okay with white dudes as long as they’re relaxed, I also like Dist Photo, The Naked Photographer (Greg Davis- not actually naked), and Pictorial Planet if you’re into stuff about printing and developing.
I’ve only shot a couple rolls of Foma 200 and I really liked it aside from the fact that it didn’t seem to hold up well to my admittedly aggressive anti-water-spotting-finger-squeegeeing technique. Lots of tiny scratches. Do you find yourself having to handle it more carefully than other films?
