They just need to do something. Doesn't necessarily need to be a lottery system but spending $350 for a registration that doesn't guarantee your room is crazy to me. They should have put more disclaimers on that at the very least!

Hot take, @anthrocon.org needs to implement a lottery system like every other con that's on the same level of scale.
Software issues, technical issues, overbooking, and hell even the overhead of traffic from users trying to book a room could be easily avoided if they setup a simple lottery system.
