Thanks Anthony. Let me know when you see it. I fear you may be underwhelmed.

Have you seen the new Nuremberg film with Russell Crowe ? I’d be interested in your take on it.

George Orwell would have a field day. Seems like your birthday triggered something. Anyway really hope to see you back on X. You’re one of the few people I actually enjoy reading. @thattimwalker.bsky.social being another. Thank you.

It’s sadly a sign of the times. We’ve been drawn - perhaps naively - into this world of social media but now it’s turning on us and setting its own very sinister agenda. Not sure where it’s leading to but it feels very dystopian and frightening. Hope you get the chance to stick two fingers to them.

Will they let you back in ? Hope so.

So Europe turned out not to be the threat to our way of life. Nor Islam or those souls made desperate and dispossessed by war and crisis. The threat turned out to be a Russian-American empire

Depressing to see our isolated and increasingly desperate country held to ransom.

β€˜This is the best song he (Phil) ever wrote’. Then Steve gets a side mention.

Another example though of Steve not getting the credit he’s due.

I think you might find that Steve wrote most of this - including a lyric or two from his brother John.

I am a little bored with the 'What About Brexit?' bombardment tbh but you really can't talk about the UK's "deep economic scars" without bloody mentioning it. Unless you're the BBC, apparently. Its negative impact is not an opinion, it's counting.

Reeves could transform the economy overnight by ceasing to worship at the altar of Brexit and going with the idea of modestly taxing people worth Β£10m-plus just a little bit more.

At long last: a statement of the blindingly obvious. Boris-Frost-Farage-Badenoch etc have damaged the UK badly. β€œIn one of the clearest statements by a senior government minister on Brexit, Reeves answered yes when asked if she was clear that leaving the EU had damaged the UK’s financial position”.

There are some issues - like, say, the death penalty - where I can see the wisdom in politicians ignoring public sentiment. I see no wisdom whatsoever in Starmer ignoring common sense opinion on a common sense issue such as this.
