Cordulegaster boltonii - a long, thin yellow and black insect, resting with wings held straight out to either side, on hedgerow foliage.
Missed posting my #30dayswild exploits due to dithering about leaving Insta, but June was pretty amazing #wildlife wise. I'll do a kind of catch-up:
First off, a Golden Ringed #Dragonfly which was a big surprise as farmland is not its typical habitat. Females like this are the UKs largest #Odonata.

The elusive #dunnock - often we hear its melodious song but it doesn’t often appear when we’re around the garden keeping hidden in the undergrowth. A beautiful #songbird.

We did it! The boys built wildlife houses in Minecraft to celebrate and they got their certificates. Year 3 done!

Day 30 of #30DaysWild and we befriended a little spider. The bairn lifted it from his paddling pool and handed it to me. I took it to some rocks and it crawled away.
